Waves of Rock

Piece description from the artist

A fascinating display of color and shape, agates can bring new views of the natural world when photographed very close.

I see echoes of other parts of nature in these rocks. Trees, sand dunes, and entire landscapes reflecting the outside world can be seen in such intimate ways.

The photographer, Jerred Zegelis, travels through rural midwest communities and photographs every beautiful thing he sees along the way. This includes nature, wildlife, landscapes and much more.

This photograph was taken with a high resolution sensor, and there may be files much larger available than what can be uploaded using TurningArt's system. I routinely use medium format digital cameras that can be printed multiple dozens of feet without the clarity and definition breaking down, so just ask if there are other options available.

About Jerred Zegelis

Omaha, NE

Jerred Zegelis was a public high school teacher for almost 20 years before becoming a full-time artist, using a camera as his primary means of expression. Zegelis infuses his love of the natural world into his photography, specifically thinking of the ways local artists interact with the world around them. He does not focus on mountains or oceans, large cities and tropical paradises and instead turns his lens toward the common dirt roads, prairies and open skies of the midwest. He has worked on many large-scale photography projects with another healthcare photographer, and making high-resolution imagery is his primary focus now for large spaces.
