Waters edge 2

Water's Edge

Piece description from the artist

This scene caught my eye during my travels because I loved the way the cluster of birch trees is standing on the edge of the pond. Each tree curves and reaches for the sky as a part of their grouping. I used collage to add texture to the tree trunks before I painted the scene. The cool blue of the water complements the warm tones of the early spring landscape.
