Piece description from the artist
This whimsical springtime scene highlights the charming wooden moon bridge arching gracefully over a small creek at the edge of a peaceful pond in the Japanese Garden at Nathanael Greene/Close Memorial Park, part of the Springfield Botanical Gardens in Springfield, Missouri, USA. Fresh spring foliage surrounds the garden, with colorful trees and blooming shrubs displaying vibrant seasonal hues beneath a soft, partly cloudy sky.
A gently curving paved walkway leads visitors through the tranquil landscape, while a wooden bench nearby offers a quiet place to pause and enjoy the calming view beside the pond. The elegant moon bridge creates a picturesque focal point as it crosses the narrow stream flowing into the water. This artwork began as a photograph and was later transformed into a textured watercolor-style painting, giving the peaceful garden scene a soft, painterly charm that enhances its storybook-like atmosphere.
