Piece description from the artist
A peaceful autumn afternoon around the historic Sarcoxie Nursery Water Tower in Sarcoxie, Missouri, United States, where vibrant fall foliage adds rich pops of gold, orange, and red to the quiet landscape. Standing tall against the seasonal color, the weathered water tower, built in the mid-1800s, serves as a lasting reminder of the area’s deep agricultural roots.
Located on private property, this landmark was once part of a large-scale nursery operation established in 1875 by the Wilde Brothers. The nursery gained international recognition and proudly earned Sarcoxie the title of the “Peony Capital of the World.” Today, while the land has taken on a new purpose under its current owners as a cannabis cultivation facility, the historic tower remains a prominent and nostalgic symbol of the property’s storied past, quietly bridging generations beneath the soft light of a Missouri fall afternoon.
