Piece description from the artist
Single paddle board floats on Diablo Lake in North Cascades National Park with glacial flour in the water giving the lake its turquoise color. This image is different to the normal views of this fantastic lake seen from the overlook, bringing the viewer down to the water level to see the sweep of the water with the mountains reflected into the calm water. The paddleboarder adds a small focal point to the scene
Steve Heap has been a photographer for over 50 years now (which is frightening to think about!) but in that time he has developed an eye for what would make a striking piece of wall art. Photography is all about the light and his finest attribute is patience! Waiting for the conditions to be just right is the key to making a piece of art that you can be proud of. Of course, luck plays a part, but without that patience of being in the right place at the right time, it just becomes a snapshot. He focuses on capturing images from around the world – timeless shots that reward the viewer with insights as they spend more time with them!
