Piece description from the artist
This photograph captures the historic Concord One-Room Schoolhouse during the autumn season at Kaysinger Bluff Pioneer Heritage Village in Warsaw, Missouri, USA. The cozy setting features hay bales arranged as benches, adding a rustic and welcoming touch to the scene. The school was originally built in 1858 in Quincy, Missouri, but both the original building and its first replacement were destroyed by fire during the 1897–1898 school year. The current structure faithfully preserves the legacy of the past, with the original painted chalkboards and six antique desks still on display inside. Surrounded by colorful fall foliage, this charming schoolhouse offers a glimpse into Missouri’s pioneer education history.
