"Ulysses I" (diptych) was painted with influence of Greek mythology, due to having recently read passages of the Iliad and the Odyssey. The abstract forms and coastal colors are evocative of the sea and boats, while the cracked brushstrokes of this painting bring to mind the movement of water.
