Twisted Driftwood On The Upheaval Dome Trail

Piece description from the artist

Twisted driftwood adds unique character to the desert landscape along the hiking trail to Upheaval Dome in Canyonlands National Park, near Moab, Utah. This moderate 1.2-mile round-trip hike in the Island in the Sky District offers visitors sweeping views of colorful desert scenery, where green vegetation and juniper bushes contrast against the orange sand and rocky terrain. On this day, a mostly cloudy sky with soft purple and pink tones created a dramatic backdrop, enhancing the beauty of the trail. Upheaval Dome is one of the park’s most fascinating geological features, and the hike is a popular choice for photographers, hikers, and travelers exploring Utah’s red rock canyon country.
