Tulipomania 14 red and yellow

Tulipomania 14: Red and Yellow

Piece description from the artist

Oils on poyester-cotton canvas, gallery-wrap, 36" x 42" x 1.5", painted around the sides, ready to hang. A frame can be added. This colorful semi-abstract artwork was inspired by spring tulips in the parks and gardens around Chicago. I arranged some of them into a composition intended to evoke a bursting-forth and flourishing sense of exuberant new life. 'Tulipomania' refers to an era when collectors paid exorbitant prices to possess tulips, and my series named as such alludes to the passsion for this exotic flower.
