Piece description from the artist
Triumph is a part of the "Sentiments in Color" Series.
Striking a harmony between intention and spontaneity, this series depicts an abstract reflection of the balance within our lives. Different styles of strokes represent an artistic oscillation between what I’m feeling versus thinking during the creative process. Throughout layering of paint, a color palette organically develops in a visual conversation between color space and form.
While we all strive for balance in our lives, in many forms, I intend to capture the very essence of it aesthetically complete. A viewer may experience balance, then, no matter what takes place outside the art itself. During the development of every piece, I rotate the canvas on all sides for a fresh perspective. I ask viewers take part in this experience and hang the work in multiple orientations to elicit a different response and see where their eyes newly gravitate.
