Tree Row Through Grand Staircase Escalante

Piece description from the artist

A curvy row of trees extends through the rugged desert landscape in Grand Staircase–Escalante National Monument in the middle of cream toned sandstone rock hills and mountains. I captured this from Scenic Byway 12 near Boulder, Utah. Its otherworldly beauty of mountains, mounds and valley sculpted by centuries of erosion with rolling slickrock slopes is an amazing site to see. The row of trees shows where a creek flows. Other scattered juniper trees and hardy desert shrubs add textures, highlighting the resilience of life in the high desert. Above, a soft blue sky is accented by the near horizon soft, drifting clouds. This photograph captures the remote and rugged spirit that defines the area. It gives a profound sense of solitude to reflect the timeless beauty and natural artistry of the American Southwest.
