Transfigured edge of awarness

Transfigured Edge of Awareness

Piece description from the artist

Aqua, yellow and ochre pallette. Stong muted white shapes on the lower right quadrant. A stacking of very structured blocks moving up the canvas. Much of my work is about seeking light. In this piece, block images are stacked upon each other creating a structural image that seeks to rise up and out, like a mountain during a sunrise. The muted colors enhance the intensity of bright yellow/teal, resulting in a pleasing tension between light and dark. For me, I see a person struggling to break free from the structures that hold them, maybe a spiritual quest to move beyond their current limitations.
