Piece description from the artist
A black and white photograph of a quiet spring morning at the serene Japanese garden at Nathanael Greene/Close Memorial Park in Springfield, Missouri, USA. Soft light filters through the trees, illuminating a wooden arbor that rests above a pond, where reflections of evergreens and the structure ripple across the water’s surface. Tucked just beyond, a small cascading waterfall flows quietly in the shadows, adding a soothing rhythm to the stillness of the scene.
Surrounded by carefully designed landscaping and natural beauty in the heart of the Ozarks, a simple bench beneath the arbor offers a peaceful place to pause and take it all in. From this spot, you’re immersed in a calming, almost meditative atmosphere, where every detail, from the gentle movement of water to the whisper of leaves, invites you to slow down and be present.
