Piece description from the artist
X's and O's, just simple tokens of affection peeking through peep holes made with liquid frisket. Neutral and minimal but rife with small details made from various tools such as a ravioli wheel, kebab skewers and branches dipped in paint and spun across the canvas. Tiny pops of fluorescent red acrylic ink is used shyly.
Sarah Finucane is a contemporary abstract artist whose work blends structured design with raw, intuitive expression. Based in Connecticut after nearly two decades in LA, she brings a creative director’s clarity to a deeply personal practice. Her background in advertising and tech—leading campaigns for Fortune 50 brands—trained her to communicate through composition, balance, and tone. Those instincts now run through her artwork, where a visual language takes the place of literal messaging. Her art has been featured in Vogue and selected by Anthropologie’s curators. Collected internationally, her pieces often sell before they’re finished, and her commissions book out months in advance.
