Piece description from the artist
In 2019, I was diagnosed with a very rare autoimmune disease called Still's Disease. I spent a week in the hospital while they tried to figure it out, completely unable to do anything. Lying in the hospital bed, with a raging fever, all I could do was surrender.
This was the first painting I worked on after being in the hospital and I was full of gratitude for the chance to express myself. I worked on it occasionally for the next two year.
Over time, I have realize that surrendering to the situation was all I could do and that my illness was a gift because it was a huge reminder of self-love and nurturing the being that is in this form.
