The Wind Tunnel

The Wind Tunnel

Piece description from the artist

This is one of the tunnels inside the Lower Antelope Canyon in Northern Arizona near the town of Page. These canyons are not visible from the surface due to the narrow slits that open into them and permits the sunlight to filter into them. This tunnel was created by rain and wind millions of years ago. During the Monsoon season these canyons flood thus allowing the creation process to continue. It's predicted that millions of more years from now they will be the size of the Grand Canyon. The colors are obtained by the reflection of the sun rays that bring out the different colors of the canyon's sandstone.
