Portrait of a Kiowa Warrior Indian. He is a performing at the Mesa, Arizona, Spring Pow-wow. The word "Pow-wow" is a social gathering held by different Native American communities. The word itself derives from the Narragansett word "powwaw", meaning "spiritual leader." The day long event is where people meet, dance and sing. thereby honoring their cultures. One gets to taste Fry Bread, an Native-American Indian delicacy as well as social with the first human inhabitants of North America.
