The Untelling

Piece description from the artist

"The Untelling" is an abstract exploration of emotional and psychological unravelling — a visual meditation on the process of shedding inherited and internalized narratives that no longer serve the self. The composition features a constellation of organic shapes, softly irregular and interconnected by dripping, threadlike lines that evoke both release and reconnection. These lines flow like memories loosening their grip, linking and unlinking the forms in a delicate tension.

The color palette is grounded in calming neutrals — muted beiges, soft grays, and earthy whites — punctuated by understated yet intentional bursts of lavender and blue. These cooler tones quietly emerge from the background, suggesting moments of clarity, healing, or renewal within the process of letting go.

Layer upon layer of texture builds a tactile depth, mirroring the complexity of the emotional landscapes being dismantled. Surfaces appear scraped, brushed, and weathered, revealing traces of what once was and what is now being redefined. The entire piece holds a sense of movement without chaos — as if the act of "untelling" is not destructive, but liberating, an act of reclamation and quiet power.

At its core, "The Untelling" is a visual ritual — an invitation to unravel, to unlearn, and ultimately to become.
