Piece description from the artist
The photographed man's job was to skate on the ice in the early morning to make sure it was safe enough for the general public to use. The photograph was captured on a cold, quiet morning, and even at this distance, the photographer could hear the sloosh of the man's skates as he circled in figure-eights around the pond.
