The (Formerly) Mean Streets Of Williamsburg

Piece description from the artist

Brooklyn’s Williamsburg neighborhood features graffiti from its previous “mean” reputation. Once a neighborhood primarily inhabited by immigrants, Williamsburg has experienced gentrification since the 1990's. Eventually earning the nickname, “Little Berlin”, Williamsburg became characterized by its hipster culture and vibrant nightlife.
