The Blue Planet transforms the delicate surface of a soap bubble into the illusion of a distant world floating through space. Through macro photography, intense shades of blue reveal flowing formations, crater-like details and organic patterns across its surface. In this version, the surrounding blue light and lens reflections extend beyond the bubble itself, creating the impression of a celestial body illuminated by a distant star.
The photograph plays with scale and perception, turning something fragile and momentary into a scene that feels vast. The transition from luminous blue into deep darkness strengthens its atmospheric quality and invites the viewer to imagine a world existing far beyond our own.
Stefano Giacomi is a London-based photographer whose work focuses primarily on macro and abstract photography, revealing details, textures and forms that often go unnoticed by the human eye.
