Piece description from the artist
Graffiti always tells a story, but theres something different about knowing most pieces go largely unseen by the public eye. Spray paint that has aged over time somehow reflects the joy and pain of the place that surrounds it.
Vanessa 'Venusian' Edwards is a Brooklyn-based visual artist, photographer, and Temple alumna who thrives on color, concept, and creativity. Through visually stimulating editing, she loves to emphasize the aspect of story and human emotion in any single photograph. Her favorite saying regarding her work is "human emotion is a lost art", which is something she aims to capture in every shot. As creative director and co-curator of the New York Art Collective and 1/2 of the creative team Sickly Particular, she is an active participant and driver of the arts community in Brooklyn. Her debut solo show, "She's Damaged" was an incredible success which has motivated her to continue her own creative projects and collaborations as well as curating other group shows.
