This vibrant Pop Art landscape painting was inspired by the Sunshine Skyway Bridge which spans the Lower Tampa Bay connecting St. Petersburg, Florida to Terra Ceia. I created this unusual work with brilliant pink, green, red and blue, disregarding the the colors in reality almost entirely. A striking and unique perspective is re-created here, giving you a good idea of how I see the world.
Sue Graef is an award-winning American artist, born in 1957 from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She currently lives in Clearwater, Florida. Growing up in the suburbs not far from New York enabled her to frequently visit the museums and art galleries, a large influence in her work.
Her works are vibrant acrylic landscape paintings on stretched canvas, lightheartedly expressing her vision of the world.
Graef has exhibited in venues across the United States including Amsterdam Whitney Gallery of New York, Gasparilla Festival of the Arts in Tampa, IDEA Museum of Mesa, AZ , Red Dot Miami, DISTRICT Arts in Maryland and Superfine Miami Beach. The Haegeumgang Museum recently acquired “Look Both Ways” in their permanent collection. Future exhibits include a solo exhibit at ARTIFACT Gallery, New York.
Graef's formal education includes Philadelphia College of Art, Tyler School of Art, Temple University, and Clemson University.
