This was almost the one that got away. I was driving back through West Virginia after a vacation and stopped at the visitor center for a break. The sun was slowly sinking and I decided, on an impulse, to race down the steps by the bridge to try to capture an interesting view. And I did – the sun was in a perfect position and a small aperture gave the distinctive star shaped glow. Perfect!
Steve Heap has been a photographer for over 50 years now (which is frightening to think about!) but in that time he has developed an eye for what would make a striking piece of wall art. Photography is all about the light and his finest attribute is patience! Waiting for the conditions to be just right is the key to making a piece of art that you can be proud of. Of course, luck plays a part, but without that patience of being in the right place at the right time, it just becomes a snapshot. He focuses on capturing images from around the world – timeless shots that reward the viewer with insights as they spend more time with them!
