With "Storm Moon Rising" I attempted to capture the ephemeral beauty of the March full moon. As winter gives way to spring, the storm moon rises, heralding a season of hope, growth, and renewal.
As the world emerges from the darkness of winter, the full Storm Moon becomes a symbol of wisdom, intuition, and spiritual connection. Using layers of paint and glimmering gold leaf, I hoped to capture the ethereal glow of the moon as it illuminates the snowy landscape.
I sought to create a sense of depth and luminosity that brings the painting to life and expresses the limitless potential that comes with embracing the magic of the changing seasons.
The art of Cynthia Ligeros incorporates impressionist elements that reveal an inner landscape to the viewer, an image at once familiar and transcendent. She seeks to explore our place in a world that we have created, yet one which also creates us.

Her artwork was recently acquired by Colorado Creative Industries for the newly remodeled Ketchum Arts and Sciences Building at CU Boulder.
Her art has appeared at the Denver Mayor’s Residence, Denver International Airport, the Madden Museum, Denver Botanic Gardens, Professional Artist Magazine, FOX News, and galleries from San Francisco to New York City.
