Stellar Current

Piece description from the artist

Stellar Current captures flowing layers of metallic colour and light, transforming a small-scale photographic experiment into something that appears vast and celestial. Thousands of tiny reflective particles trace sweeping blue and violet forms across the darkness, creating the impression of cosmic dust being carried through an immense current in space.

The photograph explores movement, scale and perception. Its luminous textures shift between something fluid and something astronomical, inviting the viewer to look beyond the original materials and imagine a landscape shaped by light, motion and their own interpretation.

About Stefano Giacomi

London, United Kingdom

Stefano Giacomi is a London-based photographer whose work focuses primarily on macro and abstract photography, revealing details, textures and forms that often go unnoticed by the human eye. His practice is driven by curiosity and experimentation, using photography to transform familiar subjects—from natural elements and insects to liquids, bubbles and organic structures—into images that can feel almost otherworldly. Rather than simply documenting what is in front of the camera, he looks for unusual perspectives that encourage the viewer to question what they are seeing. Nature is one of his strongest sources of inspiration, particularly its colours, patterns, movement and the complex structures hidden at a microscopic scale. His work has gradually developed into a distinctive exploration of the boundary between photography and abstraction, where real subjects can resemble landscapes, planets or entirely imagined environments. Through his photography, Stefano aims to draw attention to the extraordinary visual world that exists within ordinary things.
