Staying close to mom

Piece description from the artist

For this image, I made a spring visit to Florida to find the only sandhill cranes in North America that don’t migrate. These cranes nest and raise their young in the same place they live year ‘round. Orlando Wetlands park is a good place to find a variety of nesting water birds. The area features trails and a boardwalk that brings visitors close to nature. After side-stepping a sunbathing alligator, I was able to observe this sandhill crane colt staying close to its mother while feeding.
