Piece description from the artist

Tried performing a different form of fluid art for this piece, which is called a Reverse Dip. I am very happy with how it turned out.

About Elizabeth Beach

Herndon, VA

Elizabeth makes abstract expressionist work and realist work from Herndon, Virginia. She applies her background of music to create art. Elizabeth takes a song and transfers the sounds of different instruments and tones into a visual with color and shapes. Each song she listens to creates a unique image, and with the immense amount of content out there in the music world, her options of ideas and concepts are also immense. She also uses the same idea but a different process for her monotype prints. The process still has the idea of the music determining color and shape but involves a subtractive method. She does this applying paint to an acrylic plate laying it out in a way that is influenced by the music and spreading it across the plate. Afterwards she carves the paint away to create shape and line. In addition, Elizabeth does still life work when it comes to realism, she creates work based off what she views in life and what is around her. Her still lives have been thought as photographs but are truly drawings created from observation.
She acquired an Associate’s degree in General Studies from Northern Virginia Community College and a BFA and Minor in Illustration from Marymount University in Spring 2018. Her work has been seen in Elàn Magazine, and has been in BlueInk, which is Marymount’s Literary Arts Magazine. In addition, she has had work in Marymount’s Student Art Exhibition of 2017 and 2018. As well as Marymount’s Senior Art Show in December 2017. Elizabeth recently had her work shown in the Hill Center Juried Exhibition of 2019 and "By Design" at the Capitol Hill Art Workshop in Washington D.C. In addition, Elizabeth recently received the Christianberry Fellowship Award with Studio Gallery in Washington DC.
