Squeeze The Juice Out Of Life

Piece description from the artist

Squeeze the Juice Out of Life
Original Painting
Squeeze the Juice Out of Life is a vibrant contemporary painting exploring abundance, vitality, and the messy pleasure of experiencing life fully. A hand reaches into a citrus branch, squeezing a richly colored blood orange as juice spills between the fingers, transforming an everyday gesture into a playful visual metaphor.

Lush green leaves, bright yellow citrus, deep crimson fruit, and expressive figurative details create an energetic composition against a softly textured background. Visible brushwork and unexpected shifts of color give the recognizable subject a slightly surreal, expressive quality, inviting a closer look at the small details within the image.

Both playful and contemplative, Squeeze the Juice Out of Life celebrates color, nature, human connection, and the idea of embracing life with your whole hand—even when it gets a little messy. Its combination of botanical imagery, figurative painting, and bold contemporary color makes it a distinctive statement piece for residential, hospitality, workplace, restaurant, and commercial interiors.

An expressive, color-rich original painting created in acrylic on paper.
Designed to bring energy, contrast, and a sense of movement into a space.

Part of a series exploring color, tension, and everyday ritual, this piece captures a moment that feels both vivid and symbolic—something held, pressed, and fully experienced.

It works beautifully in kitchens, dining spaces, or as a focal point within a layered collection.

About Kelsey Conner

Lacombe, LA

Kelsey Conner is a Louisiana-based visual artist and muralist whose work explores nature, human experience, color, and story. Raised in Southeast Louisiana, her surroundings and connection to the region continue to influence the subjects, atmosphere, and sense of place within her work.

Working primarily through painting, and large-scale environmental artwork, Kelsey combines recognizable imagery with expressive mark-making, unexpected color, and tactile surfaces. Her subjects range from botanicals and landscapes to figurative work and moments drawn from everyday life. Rather than simply reproducing what she sees, she is interested in finding the personality, memory, humor, and emotion contained within a subject.

At the center of her practice is a desire to create artwork that rewards curiosity. Bold shapes and compositions often establish the work from a distance, while layers of texture, irregular lines, brushwork, and small details invite a second look.

Kelsey studied Fine Arts at the University of New Orleans and earned an Associate degree in Visual Communications from Delgado Community College. She has created original artwork and large-scale murals for residential, commercial, hospitality, and community spaces throughout the Greater New Orleans region.
