Spring Tulips

Jordan McDowell is an American fine artist and illustrator splitting her time between the US and Sweden. She releases collections of bold and vibrant original watercolors for collectors who want to add a pop of color to their home. She is also a freelance illustrator specializing in surface and packaging design, editorial illustration and food and floral illustration.

Through commissions, Jordan saw a need for bright, bold, and charged art in people’s homes and began building collections with that in mind. Her pieces often reflect where she is at a given moment in her life and the space around her. She aims to touch upon those influences in hopes that other’s too will find a shared experience in her art.

She began her art career in her home studio in Asheville, NC overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains. The mountains played a huge role in her first few collections. Now, she splits her time between Malmö, Sweden, Florida, and NYC and finds enormous inspiration from her constant travels.

Bold color is a common thread throughout her work but she does like to change up the subject matter quite a bit. Life has too much to paint to just focus on one thing so she often explores florals, landscapes, and food. Watercolors are her material of choice, but she also works with gouache and acrylic.
