Spearfish Falls Side View By The Creek

Warm morning sunlight filters through Spearfish Canyon, illuminating Spearfish Falls as its cascading waters tumble through the rugged gorge. I captured this long-exposure photograph from a side-angle perspective, with flowing Spearfish Creek visible beneath a leaning tree on the side. Golden light, drifting haze, and silky water came together to create a beautiful and peaceful moment.

The falls drop nearly 50 feet as multiple streams flow over the rocky terrain. Mist rising from the rushing water creates a soft haze among the trees, adding an atmospheric touch to the scene. My long exposure smooths the movement of the water while preserving the height and multiple cascades of the waterfall.

Located in the Black Hills of South Dakota, Spearfish Falls is reached by a short hike of about three quarters of a mile round trip. Surrounded by towering canyon walls, trees, and lush vegetation, it is a beautiful destination for photography and exploring the natural scenery of Spearfish Canyon.
