Piece description from the artist
Song Walking is a 40 × 60 diptych, each of the two pieces 30 × 40. It is a mixed media piece primarily a watercolor with acrylic and marker added. It is UV-protected and varnished. The painting is a large watercolor with a blue background. The foreground is dominated by a stark white birch tree, with its branches reaching up toward the sky. The tree is dotted with red cardinals, which add a splash of color to the otherwise monochromatic scene. The painting is a beautiful and serene depiction of nature, and it is sure to bring a touch of joy to any home.
Tamara Gonda is an American artist whose paintings have been inspired greatly by her love of National Parks. Her inspirations range from the mountains of the Pacific Northwest, the Rockies, and the canyons native to the South West, all the way to the American Aspen of Acadia National Park in Maine. Like her inspirations – her paintings can be found in various galleries throughout the country. Other inspirations for Tamara come from her travels throughout Europe and their infamous museums.
Originally an abstract artist studying at Virginia Commonweath University and continuing her education with a MFA from Cornell, Tamara has blended her love of nature with her talents in contemporary art. She works to merge her love of color, transparency, and layering in each of her paintings. This layering technique is what makes Tamara’s art so unique. The concept stems from her earlier abstract days and has now carried over into her watercolors.
At any moment you would be able to find Tamara hiking among the local birch trees, kayaking with her husband, or out exploring with her dog.
