Piece description from the artist
A quiet, gentle morning dawn at Horseshoe Bend in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area in Page, Arizona. The sun has yet to rise, but the blue hour sky begins to soften into delicate shades of pink and purple, casting a calm, early light over the canyon.
Below, the Colorado River curves widely around the massive sandstone escarpment, forming the iconic horseshoe shape. The towering cliffs, rising nearly 1,000 feet above the river, stand in quiet shadow, their scale softened by the cool tones of early morning. This landscape, part of the Colorado Plateau and within lands of the Navajo Nation, feels especially still in these moments before sunrise.
There’s a peaceful transition happening here, where night slowly gives way to day, and color begins to return to the desert. It’s a subtle, reflective moment that captures the calm beauty and timeless presence of one of the Southwest’s most iconic views.
