Piece description from the artist
Snow falls gently around the historic Liberty School in Springfield, Missouri, creating a quiet winter black and white scene filled with character and history. This one-room schoolhouse, originally built in 1895, served students until 1951, when it was consolidated with the Fair Grove School District. In the late 2000s, the building was carefully relocated from the Fair Grove area to Nathanael Greene/Close Memorial Park, where it now sits near the original Gray-Campbell family home. A few surrounding trees break up the white blanket of snow, adding contrast and depth to this peaceful winter view of a preserved piece of Missouri’s educational history.
