Piece description from the artist
I was very eager to take this photo. I have taken many photos from the main and most popular angle of the mill, but I have never shot this angle at night time. I was anxiously awaiting for the sun to set, and the sky to darken up. There was a family of geese swimming by and just as I took this photo they swam out of frame! Thank goodness! They would of been a blurry mess with the camera settings I was using.
The thing I love most about the Clinton Red Mill is that you could see 100 photographs, and not one of them will ever look the same. Something will always be different. I call this "Small Town Reflections" because Clinton is a very small and charming town.
Courtney is a landscape photographer who is deeply inspired by capturing the beauty of her surroundings. Her intention is to immerse the viewer in the setting so that they “feel what she feels” being in that moment in time.
Courtney describes her editing techniques as “punchy”. She believes that Mother Nature puts on the best show, and is inspired by color, clarity, and contrast. She loves capturing light and is particularly inspired by night scenes.
Courtney’s passion for photography started as a teenager when she would bring her little digital camera out on adventures through NJ with friends. She then began to take classes with local, professional photographers and soared into the industry from there. From a child to an adult, her passion has never diminished.
