Slow Mo

Slow Mo

Piece description from the artist

Adjectives are great ways to describe what a single wave or group of waves do as they come to shore. They can be standoffish, wild, tentative or boisterous. Waves have personalities! They have patterns and can be predictable and unpredictable and sometimes both at the same time. They can be soft and subtle or loud and rowdy or a million other adjectives in between.

This wave sauntered. It sashayed. I watched it as it approach and it was just slowly making its way to shore, slowly cresting and slowly washing out on the sand. In my sketchbook I wrote "Slow Mo" because it really just took it's sweet time coming in and going out. And then it was gone.
