Piece description from the artist
Walking through Secret Antelope Canyon in Page, Arizona, feels like stepping into a hidden world shaped by weather. This black and white photograph captures a view looking up through an opening, a sliver of sky contrasts beautifully with the warm sandstone walls. Sunlight filters down from above, illuminating the canyon and igniting the rock with a breathtaking glow that seems unreal, yet it is entirely natural. The smooth curves, flowing lines, and textured layers of the Navajo sandrock shift with every turn, creating endless variations of natural art. Part of the Navajo Nation, this sacred slot canyon is only accessible with a Navajo guide, ensuring its beauty is preserved. While the vertical view captures the canyon’s soaring passageways, this wide composition reveals its sweeping grandeur in glowing detail.
