The single gondola resting on that glassy surface made the moment feel almost private, like a small pocket of calm reserved for those who call this place home. The soft echo of distant footsteps and muffled voices only sharpened the sense of peaceful solitude, turning this narrow waterway into a threshold where the city's chaos stops at the edge and never quite crosses the threshold.
