Piece description from the artist
The weathered metal sheets that cover this old sheep barn are a beautifully aged patchwork of colors, and on this foggy fall day they seem to float in an atmosphere suspended in time. On a day when the grasses, sky and trees all lie dormant, this little barn seems to keep the time until nature returns with color the following Spring, many months into the future from when I took this photograph. I do love the absolute stillness of days like this, when one season transitions into another.
Annie was born and raised in Montana, growing up on her family's ranch in the beautiful Smith River Valley. Growing up in Montana's wild and beautiful Landscape led to her deep love of nature and all things rural. Annie attended the Art Institute of Colorado and lived in Denver Colorado until the completion of her Interior Design degree in 2002. After working in that field for several years, Annie moved back to Montana and began her own business, focusing on her ever-growing love of photography. She began traveling the backroads and wilderness of Montana and the Rocky Mountain region and selling her photos professionally in galleries, shops, and online. She primarily searches for rural Landscapes, old barns, abandoned farmhouses, and occasionally wildlife she encounters. Her work as been featured in HGTV, Better Homes and Gardens, and featured in three books on emerging artists of the United States. She currently lives in Billings, Montana, and takes several trips during the year to gather new images.
