Sex equality can be interpreted in many different ways. The dual references of the person in the painting is a Perot like and it stands for mating's devotion and commitment.
Maya Britan was born in Tel-Aviv, Israel in 1956. She grew up in an artistic community and started painting at the age of fourteen. Living among professional artists exposed her to myriad artistic styles imbued her with versatility and originality. Now she lives in Portland, Oregon and works mostly in oil and acrylics.
Her work has been shown nationally in Los Angeles, Seattle, and Portland; and internationally in Spain, and Holland.
