Piece description from the artist
This trip to this specific place happened on a day when I needed a major distraction. My dog was getting surgery and I was a nervous fur baby mama mess. My partner took me to a place that she knew would distract me. My go to place is the woods, my second go to place is running water.
I was taking all kind of shots from around the little pool of water that gathered at the bottom of the waterfall, because I didn't want to get my feet wet, or the shoes that I chose to poorly for that days adventure. I wasn't fond of the shots I was getting, they were okay but I didn't look at them and think THIS IS IT! So finally just took my shoes off and went in the freezing cold water, to get the angle I wanted. My partner then responded to me " I knew you were going to do that." I think it paid off!
Courtney is a landscape photographer who is deeply inspired by capturing the beauty of her surroundings. Her intention is to immerse the viewer in the setting so that they “feel what she feels” being in that moment in time.
Courtney describes her editing techniques as “punchy”. She believes that Mother Nature puts on the best show, and is inspired by color, clarity, and contrast. She loves capturing light and is particularly inspired by night scenes.
Courtney’s passion for photography started as a teenager when she would bring her little digital camera out on adventures through NJ with friends. She then began to take classes with local, professional photographers and soared into the industry from there. From a child to an adult, her passion has never diminished.
