Lauren Karp created her “Sand Dunes” Collection based on one abstract photo taken in Massachusetts on a surprisingly cold and windy day in May. The sand was blowing and the beach grasses were swaying in the wind. The light was falling softly on the scene of a marsh steps away from the Atlantic Ocean. Lauren’s images reflect the horizon and the waves in abstract form.
Lauren Karp is a Nashville-based photographer and visual artist. Her Imaginature™ images are abstract works exploring nature, transformation and time. She brings these still images to life by setting them to movement and music in her Imaginature In Motion™ digital works. Several of Karp’s installations are permanently displayed at Vanderbilt University Medical Center where they greet millions of patients, staff and visitors annually. Lauren began losing her hearing over 25 years ago. Without her hearing aids, she lives in a world with little sound. Lauren finds that her visual perception is heightened, which influences her work by enabling her to capture the beauty she sees, and express it through her artwork. Karp hopes her work will delight viewers and allow them to see nature’s beauty in new and exciting ways.
