Sand Access

Piece description from the artist

Atwater is a small beach serving the Shorewood community (a suburb of Milwaukee). This beach has many nice compositions for capturing compositions. There are large concrete groynes that are great for leading lines. This particular morning each groyne had a couple photographers trying to capture the sun rising over the horizon. Instead of joining them, I was going to try to find something different. Behind me was a beach playground. I captured the opening between the fences leading to the main portion of the beach.

About Andrew Slater

Waukesha, WI

Father. Husband. Engineer. Photography.

Yep in that order. I love photography, but I also love being a father of three, a husband, and a professional engineer.

I work in downtown Milwaukee, WI, and live in Waukesha, WI. However, I will capture anywhere between and then some.

My inspiration is being able to get outside and enjoy the environment. Life moves fast, photography helps me freeze it, at least for a little while. Primarily, I like to capture landscapes and architecture. As a father of three little kids, I also get to capture as my families grows.
