About Hannah Hunter

Langley, WA

Hannah Klaus Hunter is an American botanical artist. A native of New York, she spent most of her adult life in northern California until relocating in 2019 to Washington. She received her B.A. in Studio Art from the University of Iowa, where she studied textiles and painting. She went on to receive an M.F.A. from the California College of the Arts in Textiles and Sculpture and a Post-Master’s Certificate in Art Therapy from the University of California at Berkeley.

A practicing artist since 1983, Hannah currently works in both printmaking and collage. Her pieces involve a range of materials and have been exhibited widely, both in the United States and abroad. Her dedication to combining art and healing has led to numerous commissions for health care settings. Her work is displayed in clinics at New York University, Kaiser Permanente California and the University of California, Davis.

Hannah’s recent work combines her love of botanical art with words, text and image, journal entries and collage. Committed to creating beauty in an ever changing world, she now lives on Whidbey Island, WA in the Puget Sound, a hot-bed of verdant plant life.
