Rosa was inspired by the Folklorico dancers who performed in Jal, New Mexico many years ago. The young students and their teachers were learning the folk dances of the many different regions of Mexico while wearing colorful costumes of those regions.
Debra Wadlington paints in a style that reflects the realism of the cultures of the American West and Southwest. Debra’s life-long passion resonates throughout her art with every stroke of color, skillfully capturing the indelible spirit of the land, the people, and traditions.
Native to New Mexico, where she attended school and began her career in art, Debra’s academic achievements include degrees in Bachelor of Science in Art, Bachelor of Art in Secondary Education Certification, and a Masters in Elementary Education. She has taught at various grade levels in primary and secondary schools, in addition to college as an adjunct Professor of Art. Debra resides in Texas, where she continues to paint her passion.
