Rooftop of the World Series #11; Night Falls

Piece description from the artist

This capture is one of my “On Top of the World” series. Some works focus on daytime; some like this one emphasize early evening scenes. Every so often you plan to be in a certain place and in turns out to be the right place at the right time. I wanted to photograph the New York City skyline from this particular rooftop location for some time. I arrived about one hour before sunset because the light would be behind me as I faced east. This day nature complied with a beautiful sky and lighting. The details and shadows surrounding the buildings and street were striking. I hope viewers enjoy a scene depicting how awesome and magical New York City can appear at the right moment. At the time, I felt like was on top of the world.
