Piece description from the artist
A breathtaking view of Badlands National Park from Big Badlands Overlook near Interior, South Dakota. I captured this photograph while taking in the incredible maze of rugged ridges, winding ravines, and colorful rock formations extending toward the horizon. The landscape has an almost otherworldly appearance, with layer after layer creating incredible depth.
The exposed rock displays beautiful shades of tan, cream, gold, and reddish brown, while the deeply eroded formations create fascinating textures and patterns throughout the scene. I love how the changing elevations make the landscape feel both rugged and expansive.
Standing here with such an immense view in front of me was an unforgettable experience. As a landscape photographer, I could easily spend hours exploring the details and photographing the unique beauty of the Badlands.
