Piece description from the artist
This image was taken in Reykjavik, Iceland on New Year’s Eve. The city of 300,000 builds massive bonfires all around its perimeter on that night to brighten the arctic night. 24" high x 48" wide, with a one-inch gallery wrap, ready to hang. LImited to an edition of 40, and prices will go up as supplies dwindle.
Steve Farley took his first photograph with a Kodak Instamatic at the age of six. He has traveled the world ever since, finding engaging imagery everywhere, and bringing it back to us. Steve creates his large-scale photographs by digitally collaging many zoomed-in images to increase detail and reveal changing colors, movement, and angles.
Steve is also the public artist who invented a way to convert photographs into glazed ceramic tile murals using a process called Tilography. His work has been exhibited in Los Angeles, Dallas, Norfolk, Salt Lake City, Phoenix, San Jose, Fort Lauderdale, and many other locations.
