Resilient red pine

Resilient Red Pine

Piece description from the artist

After years of hardship, I respect the strength and resilience of the red pine tree. They root themselves deep in the ground and thrive in high elevations, taking on the most brutal weather conditions. At the same time, they also turn a beautiful red when the afternoon light hits the upper part of it's trunk.

About Tim Winter

Pittsford, NY

Growing up in Rochester, New York, Tim was oil painting almost before he could read–the result of having an older brother who left his art supplies out. Years after trying to copy the work of the masters from images in a book Tim was able to study in Florence, Italy, at the Lorenzo de Medici Institute and ultimately earn a Fine Arts degree from Nazareth College in Rochester. He has been a member of the Rochester Art Club, and has exhibited with the Pacific Arts League, as well as many juried art exhibitions in New York.

Tim now lives in Pittsford, NY, actively working both in studio and en plein air.
Painting primarily in oils, he specializes in modern impressionist landscapes. Tim’s subject matter ranges from sun-drenched harbor views to street scenes with stories to tell. When he is not chasing down his next inspiration, Tim enjoys working with clients to help realize their ideas on canvas.
