Piece description from the artist
This vertical black and white photograph of a beautiful, mature elm tree standing along a quiet road at Lake Springfield Park in Springfield, Missouri, USA. Photographed in spring during a calm evening, the tree rises gracefully against a partly cloudy sky, emphasizing its height and natural elegance. Fresh seasonal growth adds to its presence, making it a striking subject in the peaceful park setting.
While the exact elm species is unknown, it belongs to the Ulmaceae family within the Ulmus genus. Given that many elm trees are vulnerable to Dutch elm disease, seeing one grow to such an impressive size is especially meaningful, a reminder of both the resilience and beauty of these iconic trees.
